Korean Grilled Squid

Spicy Grilled Squid
Our Korean Grilled Squid brings the essence of the Korean seaside right to your plate. Tender squid, marinated in a bold mix of our sauce for Korean squid , garlic, and a touch of sweetness, is grilled to perfection. This dish is a true Korean favorite, often enjoyed with a cold drink on warm evenings by the ocean. It’s simple, quick, and irresistibly satisfying. It is perfect as a main course for two or as a shareable appetizer for your next dinner night. Serve it with a side of steamed rice, fresh salad, or a squeeze of lemon for an extra refreshing kick.
Ingredients
Servings: 2 portions | Prep Time: 10 min | Cook Time: 6–8 min
- 200 g squid, cleaned and cut into rings
- 3 tbsp Bibap Manufacture Sauce For Korean Squid
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
- fresh herbs (cilantro or parsley), chopped
- wooden or metal skewers (if grilling)

Preparation
- We begin by cleaning the squid if needed, removing the head, beak, and innards. We rinse it well under cold water and pat it dry. Before marinating, we score the body gently in a crisscross pattern. This helps the squid cook evenly and allows it to absorb more flavour.
- In a small bowl, we mix gochujang, soy sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic, chili flakes, and a little oil until the marinade is smooth. Once it is ready, we brush or rub the Bibap Manufacture Sauce For Korean Squid over the squid, making sure to coat it inside and out. We let it rest for about ten to fifteen minutes so the flavors can settle in.
- Meanwhile, we preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat. When it is hot, we place the squid on the grill and cook it for a few minutes on each side until it is lightly charred and just cooked through. We watch it closely, as squid can become rubbery if it cooks for too long.
- To serve, we either slice it into rings or bring it to the table whole. A squeeze of fresh lemon, a sprinkle of sesame seeds or spring onions, and it is ready to enjoy with steamed rice or a simple salad.

Goes well with
- Add bell peppers or cherry tomatoes between squid rings for color and veggie boost.
- Serve with a side of fresh salad or steamed rice.
