    Bibap Manufacture was born from a profound yet simple question: How can the Korean tradition of healthy, natural kimchi be preserved as generations and lifestyles change? Having left her homeland behind, founder Yangsun made it her mission to keep Korea’s deep-rooted culinary heritage alive in Europe. Based in Palma de Mallorca, where she runs a Korean restaurant, she witnessed firsthand the appreciation for authentic Korean cuisine, natural ingredients, and the health benefits of traditional fermentation.

    Driven by her passion for jang — the fermented essence of many Korean dishes — she began developing a range of products that combine heritage, health and innovation. Bibap Manufacture creates naturally fermented kimchi, jang and Korean sauces, all made with fresh, locally sourced, organic ingredients. Each product is carefully handcrafted using traditional methods and slow fermentation processes to protect flavour and nutritional value.

    For Yangsun, fermentation is more than just a culinary technique; it’s a means of connecting cultures, preserving memories, and providing nourishment. Her training in traditional Korean temple cuisine and her many years of experience working in professional kitchens influence every recipe, striking a balance between authenticity and modern creativity.

    Originally from South Korea, I’ve always been passionate about quality food and ingredients. After moving to Germany and starting Europe’s first organic Korean green tea import, I combined entrepreneurship with my love for health and flavor. In 2011, I opened Bibap, Mallorca’s first Korean and Asian restaurant. Since then, my mission has been to craft high-quality Korean specialties with care, tradition, and a modern touch. Bibap Manufacture was born from this journey. You are more than welcome!

    Korean temple food is a plant-based culinary tradition with roots in Korean Buddhist philosophy. It is more than just food; it reflects the principles of mindful eating, simplicity and deep respect for nature. Prepared without meat, garlic, or additives, it uses seasonal vegetables, wild herbs, and fermented ingredients to nourish the body and mind. This natural, vegan cuisine from Korea promotes balance, sustainability, and a holistic way of living.

Based on the ancient principle that food can be medicine, it features fermented foods such as kimchi, doenjang and gochujang. We chose recyclable plastic for our kimchi because it offers the best balance of sustainability and efficiency, enabling eco-friendly transport and reducing resource use.
